Integrating aesthetics and functionality. The use of sound-absorbing elements in offices.

In the constant transformation of office design, layouts have mutated from an approach where the number of operational positions prevailed to configurations where the variety of flexible spaces that promote productivity and collaboration is key.

Equipment and materials have been evolving to accompany these changes and along these lines elements have emerged that mitigate the negative impacts of noise and control sound in these environments where dynamism is key.

Sound-absorbing elements have re-emerged this time as an essential component in the modern office interior design. These elements are essential to achieve a balance between openness and acoustic privacy in an environment where fluid communication and individual concentration are equally important.

When we at MP create work spaces, as happens with the selection of furniture and lighting, we seek to incorporate the different sound-absorbing materials and intertwine them with aesthetics and functionality. An outstanding example of our way of working is the design for Radio Victoria in the MaipĂș 1210 Building.

With the aim of enhancing the experience of workers in operational and collaborative areas, an analysis of the envelopes, their composition and dimensions was carried out and the surfaces that would be acoustically treated were defined. Included were carpets, perforated acoustic plaster ceilings, and PET felt panels on columns and walls, as well as upholstery on furniture.

The choice of shapes and colors was inspired by brand colors and contemporary art and is aligned with our conceptual proposal reinforcing the image of the Company.

As for the flooring, it was decided to cover a large part of the floor with modular carpets with gray base slats and accents in tone with the rest of the materials, achieving a cohesive and attractive visual for users. Accents can take the form of intricate patterns, custom designs, or as in this case, bright colors within the weave of the rugs.

The columns were covered with a series of layers of sound absorbers with textures and colors depending on the operational area. The architecture of the rooms and these coverings connect and share the feeling of fluidity.

In summary, in our office space designs, sound-absorbing elements are not merely a technical solution but are an intrinsic part of the conceptual proposal.
